Mr. Michael David Sparks, age 71, of Adairsville passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, with his loving wife, daughter, and son at his side.

Michael was born in Rome, Georgia, February 18, 1952, son of the late Ralph Sparks and Alma Jean Jackson Sparks. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Michael was a truck driver for many years before becoming a poultry farmer. He was a die hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons. His greatest accomplishment was his family, they were his pride and joy. Michael was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, and brother whose memory will be cherished in their hearts forever.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Pat Sparks; daughter, Stephanie and Brooks Chancey; son, Ryan and Lydia Spark; grandchildren, Jay, Gray, and Bray Chancey and Mason Sparks (Ashley); sister, Demple and Ladell Mealer; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville with Reverends Kenny Rogers and Brent Tatum officiating. The body will lie in state on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers will be Scott Mealer, Greg Mealer, Jamey Laney, Stanley Jarrett, Norman Parker, and Jason Costlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay, Gray, and Bray Chancey, Mason Sparks, Larry Jarrett, Ronnie Everett, Dewayne Everett, Ronnie Jackson, Greg Mitchell, and Tim Mealer.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Barton Funeral Home.
