Obituary

Mrs. Mildred Mulkey Moore, age 92, of Adairsville, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Fifth Avenue Nursing Home.

Mildred was born in Rome, GA, September 21, 1932, daughter of the late John Turner Jackson and Bessie Kay Jackson. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her daughter, Emmett Mulkey, husband, J. B. Moore, and brother, George Jackson. Mildred was a member of the Adairsville Baptist Church and dedicated her life to nursing a profession she loved deeply. She retired from her nursing career at the age of 89. Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed traveling, reading, and cooking.

Survivors include Janice Edenfield; grandchildren J. T. Edenfield (Harmony), Andrew Edenfield and Laura Kay McCalmant(Brock); special granddaughters, Katie Szweda (Dan) and Crystal Edenfield; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Gallman (Tanner), Wade Szweda, Kennedy Edenfield, James Szweda, Claire Szweda, Carter Cash Profitt, and Ensley McCalmant; nieces, Patti Rowell (Bill) and Leigh Wiles (Mike); her bonus family, Robin Biddy, Susan Holcomb, Shelia Haley (Mike) and their children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Mildred's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville. The family will receive friend's prior from 1:00PM until the hour of the service.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, is in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Mildred Mulkey Moore.
