Mrs. Mildred Carney Richards, age 70, 109 Green Loop Road, Adairsville, passed away Thursday evening, July 12, 2012, at the residence.
She was born in Marietta, Georgia on August 25, 1941, daughter of the late John and Nancy Howard Carney. Mrs. Richards had attended Dempsey Loop church and also Church of the Great Commission. She enjoyed reading her bible, gardening and tending to her chickens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy H. Richards
Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey (Denise) Richards of Adairsville, Leland (Maria) Richards of Adairsville, and Wesley (Tonia) Richards of Calhoun; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Darold) Swafford of Adairsville, Marie (Gregory) Bracken of Ellijay, Loretta (Thomas) Dutton of Adairsville, Rosetta (Tim) Gibson of Dallas, and Elizabeth (J.W.) Hunter of Adairsville; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nancy Faye Riley of Acworth and Alvia Roberts of Goshen, OH; a brother, John Carney of Woodstock; nieces, nephews, and her special dog, Jasper also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012, at 2:00 PM from the New Life Ministries, Adairsville, with Rev. Harvey Richards and Wesley Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Church Cemetery, Ludville, Georgia.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
