Mr. Mitchell V. Fortenberry , age 7 1 , of Adairsville passed away Wednes day, June 23 , 2021.

Mr. Fortenberry was born in R ome , Georgia, June 3 , 19 50 , son of the late Vernon Doyle Fortenberry and Cleo Holloway Hobgood. Mr. Fortenberry was a devout Christian who loved sharing the word of God and a love for Bible Prophecy. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a machinist for many years. The joy in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Mitchell had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening . He was lover of animals, trout fishing , enjoyed blue grass music and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle Fortenberry and Cleo Hobgood .

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Fortenberry; daughter, Felicia and Chris Harrell; son, Matthew Fortenberry; grandchildren, Austin and Moriah Harrell, Madison Harrell, and Jayden Fortenberry; great-grandson, Talon Harrell; brothers, J. W. and Jan Fortenberry, Jimmy and Beverly Fortenberry, and Randy and Sharon Fortenberry; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sun day, June 2 7, 2021 at 2 :00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, Rome with military honors . Pallbearers include Matthew Fortenberry, Austin Harrell , Chris Harrell, Jayden Fortenberry, Dakota Fortenberry, Dale Halsey, and Josh Fortenberry.

The family will receive family and friends Saturday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
