Mrs. Myrtle Pelfrey Sutton, age 84, of Hall Station Road, Adairsville, passed away Monday morning (July 20, 2015) at Floyd Hospital.

She was born in Adairsville, September 18, 1930, daughter of the late Carl Darnell Pelfrey and Katie Lou Sanders Pelfrey. She was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ and a devote Christian. Her family meant the world to her and she cherished every moment with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed to sew and read. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl "Curley" Sutton; brothers, Robert Pelfrey and Maurice Pelfrey; sisters, Barbara Finch and Melba Wilson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Teresa Sutton of Adairsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Bobby Hazelwood of Adairsville and Andrea and Andee Adams of Adairsville; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Marlin "Budge" and Ellen Pelfrey; sisters, Patricia Story, Martha Holbert, Charlotte Bowman, and Sandra Garland; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Adairsville Church of Christ with Ministers Steve McCaslin, Jake Sutton, Tate Sutton, and Calvin Reneau officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the church.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Ramey Hazelwood, Colby Adams, Chase Adams, Brody Adams, Jake Sutton, Tate Sutton, Andy Blankenship, and Shay Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Holbert, Tim Story, Michael Garland, Greg Bowman, Lawayne Pelfrey, Stanley Pelfrey, Chris Pelfrey, Todd Reece, and Jimmy Ray.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
