Obituary
Mrs. Nellie Ruth "Tootsie" Bailey, age 80 formerly of Highway 140, Adairsville, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Shannon, Georgia, June 28, 1936, daughter of the late A.M. Whitlow and Pearl Hammonds Whitlow. She was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey was a beautician for many years and owned and operated Country Lane Salon for 12 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother, enjoyed cross stitching, and liked gardening and canning. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Bailey; grandson, Matthew Allen Bailey; sisters, Novella Stewart, Marlene Greeson, Marie Putnam, and Mary Lois Franks; brothers, Clarence Whitlow, Roy Whitlow, and Ray Whitlow.
Survivors include her sons, Gregory Bailey of Adairsville, Rodger and Brenda Bailey of Adairsville, Matt Bailey of Adairsville, and Michael and Lacrecia Bailey of Calhoun; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Minister Ron Marks officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Springs Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
