Mrs. Opal Brown Gorham, 95, of W. George Street, Adairsville passed away Saturday (December 21, 2013) at the residence.

Mrs. Gorham was born in Centre, Alabama, May 18, 1918, daughter of the late Virgil and Alma Lawson Brown. She has been a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church since 1936. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Gorham; daughter Jeannette Littlejohn; grandson, BJ Wisdom; 2 sisters, Margie Edwards and Elsie Floyd; 3 brothers, Ulys Brown, Hubert Brown, and Houston Brown.

She is survived by 3 granddaughters, Carla and Billy Littlejohn Wisdom of Adairsville, Angela Caldwell and Robert McClendon of Jasper, Michelle Hudson and Tommy Huddleston of Adairsville; 9 great-grandchildren, Amanda Wisdom, Jeremy and Brittany Littlejohn, Brittany Littlejohn, Heather Wisdom, Alison and Kyle Gobel, Nicholas and Beth Hudson, Jessica Caldwell, Tera Hudson, and Shelby Hicks Wisdom; 8 great great-grandchildren, Braden Gobel, London White, Madison Littlejohn, Bankston Littlejohn, August Littlejohn, Destiney Hudson, Jaylinn Hicks, and Khaleigh McConnell; 2 brothers, A.J. Brown of Jacksonville, NC and Louie Brown of Murrieta, CA.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00PM until the funeral hour. Pallbearers include Donnie Edwards, Jeremy Littlejohn, Nicholas Hudson, Billy Edwards, Tracy Edwards, and Isaac Hall. Honorary pallbearers include the deacons of the church and the Lady's Sunday school class.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
