Mr. Ottis Wesley Adams, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, January 18, 2021, surrounded by the ones he loved.
Mr. Adams was born in Kingston, Georgia, December 6, 1936, son of the late Timothy Wesley Adams and Dorothy Carolina McGuire Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of the Adairsville Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States National Guard and member of the Adairsville American Legion Post 245. Mr. Adams was a former councilman for the City of Adairsville and retired from Huntsmen Chemical. His happiest time was being on his tractor working his family farm. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by the loving wife of 63 years, Carol Thornbrough Adams; children, Deborah and Brian Thomas, Thornton Adams, and John Adams; granddaughter, Lauren and Thomas Maddox.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverends Eric Sorrell and Michael Hunt officiating. Internment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
Family and friends attending services will be required to wear face mask and observe social distancing.
