Pastor John Simuel Beasley, Jr, age 60, of 104 North Cass Street, Adairsville, went to be with his lord and savior on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Beasley was born in Adairsville, Georgia, September 14, 1954 son of the late John Simuel Beasley, Sr. and Annie Margaret Lott Beasley. John was a graduate of Adairsville High School and was chosen for all state in football and also lettered in basketball and track. After graduating he attended Jacksonville State University and was the most valuable defensive lineman. As a young man he started his journey in the ministry working with Y.P.W.W., Young People Willing Workers, at Omega United Church of God in Christ, he also taught bible study and ministered at Adairsville Body of Christ, and a member and Pastor at Bethlehem Judah House of God, Adairsville. He was very active with his children and his community, having coached sports for Bartow County Rec. Dept., was on the Board of Director's for Adairsville Housing Authority, and helped with the community outreach program. Pastor Beasley was a devout Christian, loving husband and amazing father. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Anna M. Beasley; son, Joshua Beasley; daughter, Elizabeth Anell Beasley; sister, Vera Beasley Lynn.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Stephanie McConnell Beasley of Adairsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig D. (Erica) Beasley of Adairsville and John S. (Monifa) Beasley, III of Kennesaw; daughter, Grace N. Beasley of Adairsville; grandchildren, Jaylon, Ashanti, Joshua, Jordanny, Daelon, and Mia Beasley, Enaya and Cydney Graham; siblings, David (Cathy) Beasley, Josephine (Mathis) Gardner, Mark Beasley, Ted Beasley, Traci (Randy) Johnson, Vic (Teresa) Beasley, Sr, Patrick (Tammy) Beasley, Davol Beasley; step-siblings, Tim (Cathy) Davis and Paula (Steve) Allen; step-mother, Patricia Beasley of Adairsville; aunts, Mary Pearl Morgan and Margaret Gary both of Gary, IN; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Adairsville Church of God, with Apostle Trixie Morgan, Minister Reginald Riley, Pastor Eric Williams, Pastor Kim Sloan, Minister Charles Parker, and Pastor Larry Gardner officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery, Adairsville. Cameron Beasley, Quentin Gardner, Jason Beasley, Nixon Sellers, Jr, Vic Beasley, Jr, Malcom Davis, Kellen Beasley, Kenneth Beasley, and Ashley McConnell will serve as pallbearers and Henry Studyvent, John D. Richards, Frankie Fletcher, Jimmy Fletcher, Norman Parker, and Michael McConnell will serve as honorary pallbearers. Makayla Beasley, Lashania Davis, Jillian Beasley, Chloe Sellers, Sage Beasley, Nikki Linley, Shonda Lynn, Leah McConnell, and Shaunta McConnell will serve as flower bearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
