Obituary

In loving memory of Paula Jaye Garland

Paula Jaye Garland of Rydal, GA was 61 years old when she was welcomed into her eternal home in glory. She was born in Atlanta, GA on December 17, 1963, date of her death was July 1, 2025. Paula was a graduate of Adairsville High School and Berry College. She enjoyed retirement after working many years at Maybank and Shaw Industries. She was a member of Remnant Church in Adairsville, GA and cherished her Pastor Andrew Hight and church family. Paula had a strong faith in God, and she was not afraid to share her faith with others.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents Howard Briggs Garland and Betty Christopher Garland, her brother Danny Garland, and her beloved dog Rudy.

She is survived by her brother Robert Garland (Jo), sister Sharon McCary Davis (Keith), Glenn Garland (Jenny), and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Paula loved everything about the beach. She especially loved Sanibel Island, collecting seashells on the beach, playing in the ocean and jumping waves. She loved flowers and was always looking for something new to plant in her flower beds. Her family and friends were very important to her. She loved going to cat, and rock shows, with her friend Tina. She loved family dinners for no special occasion and for celebrating life-mile stones. She loved the Christmas Season and all that goes with it. Her skills in making Christmas sweets were well known. We all looked forward to her Christmas gift baskets of delicious treats. Her artistic nature helped her to paint beautiful Christmas ornaments, and she was generous to share them with family and friends.

Her pets were her kids, and she was devoted to them. On the back of one of her vehicles there was a sticker that said, “My Kids have Paws”. She had an infectious laugh that would cause you to laugh with her. She was excited when her twin great nieces, Sharabella and Zoey were born and loved spending time and playing with them. She was an amazing sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who was a strong, protective, kind, and loving person. She is greatly missed by those who love her.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Remnant Church in Adairsville with Pastor Andew Hight officiating. Doors to the church will open at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at 6:00 PM at Faith Tabernacle in Rydal GA, with Minister Keith Davis. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelter.
