Mrs. Pauline Setliff "Mama" Overby, age 87, of Bishop Drive, NW, Cartersville, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Mt. Berry Hospice.
She was born in Draper, NC, August 9, 1929, daughter of the late John Emoryfield Setliff and Fannie Glenn Setliff. Mrs. Overby was a member of Raccoon Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilford J. "Wick" Overby; grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Overby and Jody Rene Overby; sister, Ruby L. Setliff; and brothers, Frank D. Setliff, Paul Setliff, and Eugene J. Setliff.
Survivors include her sons, Ronnie and Mea Overby of Eden, NC and Booker and Jean Overby of Taylorsville; daughters, Anita and Roy Newberry of Alpharetta, Pam and Terry Elrod of Cartersville, and Phyllis and Danny McElrath of Cartersville; brothers, Bobby and Linda Setliff of Little River SC and Bill and Polly Setliff of Eden, NC; 17 grandchildren, 46 greatgrandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Raccoon Creek Baptist Church with Ministers James Black and Josh Newberry officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville. Pallbearers include Joseph Overby, Dylan Overby, Jason Leone, Ricky Newberry, Hunter McElrath, and Kaleb Waters. Honorary pallbearers include Tim Harris, Kevin Newberry, and Shane Ashworth.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
