Mr. Peter "Pete" Ervin Jackson, age 55, of 111 Summer Street, Adairsville, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville.

He was born in Marietta, GA, on June 14, 1958, son of Dee Jackson and the late Pat Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the United States Army and a skilled carpenter having worked in several trades including roofing and framing. He was a vibrant individual who loved people and never met a stranger. Mr. Jackson was an animal lover, loved to cook, listen to music, and spend time with family and friends, especially his mother. He was preceded in death by his father, Pat Jackson; a son, Preston Jackson; and 3 brothers, Mike Jackson, Chuck Jackson, and Guy Jackson.

Survivors include his mother, Dee Jackson of Adairsville; 3 daughters and a son-in-law Jenifer Michelle Jackson and Tyler Klemmesten of Gainesville, Krista Jackson of Owasa, MI, and Nikki Jackson of Owasa, MI; 2 sons, Joshua Bailey of Marietta, Matthew Steele of Kennesaw; 1 grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Nora Jackson of Villa Rica; a sister, Patti Camp of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. David Bennett, Rev. Charles Holden and Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 29, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
