Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Lynn Ray, age 62, of Rydal, passed away November 16, 2018 at her residence.
She was born in Cartersville, September 14, 1956, daughter of the late Hilburn and Ella Mae Childers. Phyllis was of the Pentecostal faith. Loving and taking care of her family was her purpose in life. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years, Rev. Henry JD Ray; brothers, James and Raymond Childers.
Survivors include sons, Randell "Dubb" (Melinda) Childers and Jeffrey "Boddy" (Kelly) Ray; daughter, Melissa "Missy" (Shannon) Stiles; 13 grandchildren, Matthew "Matt", Marcus "Marc", and Alexis "Lexi" Childers, David "Boots" Ray, Kelsey Harrell, Carly Seitz, Riley Hubbard, Tyler Ray, Jamison Ray, Kaitlynn Stiles, Haley Stiles, JD Ray, and Tatum Ray; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Parker and brothers, Jason Childers, Junior Childers, Johnny Childers, and Claude Childers..
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2018, at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Randell Childers officiating. Interment will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Matthew Childers, Shane Childers, Michael Childers, Chris Childers, Tony Parker, and Joey Mooney.
The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Sunday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
