Mr. Ray Dean Hazelwood, age 56, of Cartersville went to be with the lord November 13, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Hazelwood was born to Charles W. Hazelwood and Barbara (Fritz) Hazelwood on January 12, 1959 in Cartersville, GA and was a lifelong resident of Bartow County.

Ray proudly served in the United States Army in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Germany, and EL Paso, Texas. Ray was always finding something funny to say to everyone. He loved his family. Ray Loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. He was always telling people of his love of God. He loved working outside and if anyone was in need, he was there to lend a helping hand.

Ray was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.A. and Kate Fritz, Floyd and Susie Hazelwood, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Mary Howard, several aunts, uncles, cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Howard Hazelwood of Cartersville; mother, Barbara G. Hazelwood of Cartersville; brothers, Marvin Hazelwood and Hank (Donna) Hazelwood both of Cartersville; his father, Charles "Pete" Hazelwood of Cartersville Heights, Cartersville, GA; 5 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law; also his special buddy, T.C.

Graveside services will be held November 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM from Cassville Cemetery, Cassville with Rev. Harvey Bishop officiating.
