Mr. Raymond Seaborn Evans, age 77, of Cartersville, GA, passed away Wednesday morning (July 2, 2014) at his residence.

He was born in Cartersville, GA, March 15, 1937, son of the late John Smith Evans and Emily Cook Evans. Mr. Evans was a veteran of the United States Army and had retired from C.W. Matthews as a motor grader operator. Also was a lifetime member of the Canton American Legion Post 45 and the National Rifle Association. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his siblings, Fannie Lou Hall, Nellie Joe Cochran, and Roy Acuff Evans.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton Eugene and Diana Evans and David Gregory and Misty Evans; grandchildren, Eric Raymond Evans, Jennifer Evans, Karis Evans, Kalyn Evans, Zachary Evans, and Jonathan Evans; 2 great grandchildren, Dylan "Junior" and Noah; brothers and sister, Octavia Clark, J.S. Evans, William Dow Evans, Jerry Evans, Fred Evans, Frances Withrow, and Bobbie White; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Cary Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Glade Church Cemetery, Adairsville.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
