Rev. Robert Loy Frix, age 76, of Adairsville went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, March 30, 2021.

He was born August 19, 1944, in Adairsville, Georgia to the late William Fred Frix, Sr. and Mamie Allene Howell Frix. Rev. Frix was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church. He was a preacher for 57 years at numerous churches including: Corinth Baptist Church, Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Riverview Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church, Sardis Baptist Church, Noah Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Shannon, and Awtrey Baptist Church. Rev. Frix, along with his wife, loved spreading the word of God all over the world. They traveled to Australia, Canada, Alaska, Jamaica, and Ohio. Outside of his ministry he had worked at several places, Lewis Carpet, Florida Tile, Darlington Schools, Three Rivers, and the Red Cross. He was an avid jogger, enjoyed the outdoors, going fishing, and Atlanta Braves Fan. Loy was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Tony Frix and William Fred Frix, Jr.; sister, Iva Nell Lewis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria Frix; children, Tim and Susan Frix, Deborah Frix, Sandra Frix, and Stephen and Lisa Frix; grandchildren, Keisha Law, Korisha Curtis, Deonta Curtis, Samaria Curtis, Brittany Fairbanks, Cassidy Frix, Bryson Frix, Joshua Hubert, Anna Frix, and Rebecca Frix; great-grandchildren, Jabari Burleson, Tavaris Burleson, A. J. Law, Anias Law, Serenity Curtis, D. J. Curtis, and Cameron Curtis, Brendlee Fairbanks, Willow Fairbanks, and Christopher Fairbanks Jr.; sister, Sara and Rev. Larry Hogan and Daisy and Wendell Gilreath; brother, John H. Frix; brother-in-law, Bill Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Oothcalooga Baptist Church with Reverends Clinton Green, Michael Hunt, and David Baker officiating. Internment will follow in Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Deonta Curtis, Bryson Frix, Joshua Hubert, Roger Gilreath, Jerry Frix, and Al Frix.

The family will receive friends Thursday April 1, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville.

Family and friends attending services will be required to wear face mask and observe social distancing.
