Robert Lee "Sonny" Neal, age 70, of Jones Mill Road, Cartersville, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the residence.

He was born in Rydal, Georgia , June 13, 1943, son of the late Clinton Lee Neal and Jewell Moss Neal. Mr. Neal was a member of Freedom Church in Acworth, the Samuel S. Lawrence Masonic Lodge # 721, and had been an auctioneer for J and S Auction. He was a fan of NASCAR and baseball, loved his dogs, and mostly enjoyed just being with his "girls". Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Herman Neal.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Jan Neal of Cartersville; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Jim Skinner of Acworth; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Terri Neal of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Jadi and Michael Coleman, Amber and Jason holder, Brooke Porter, PJ Skinner, Trey Neal and Patsy Neal; great-grandchildren, Eli Cole, JJ Holder, Bentley Holder, Cooper Coleman, and Carson Coleman; brother, Sammy and Joyce Neal.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Bill Allen and Bill Creel officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Rydal. Pallbearers include Jim Skinner, Michael Coleman, Jason Holder, Jimmy Daniel, Tony Hamby, and PJ Skinner

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Barton Funeral Home.
