Mrs. Roberta Stoops Boswell, 79, of Commerce, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015, at her residence.

She was born in Cleveland, TN, January 22, 1936, daughter of the late Jimmy Stoops and Cleo Goble Stoops. Mrs. Boswell was a member at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Commerce. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed fishing. Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Delores Ozment; brother, Thomas Stoops; great-grandson, Kris Cape; nephews, George and Frank Pickens; son-in-law, J.T. Williams.

Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Jerome Boswell of Commerce; daughters, Robbie Williams of Kingston, Helen Jackson of Rome, Paula Boswell of Rome; sons, Robert Lord of Mt. Vernon, WA, Paul Boswell of Rome, and James Boswell of Rome; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sweet dogs, Itsy and Frisky.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Minister Wesley Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Cecil Ford, Gene Locklear, Darrell Green, Gene Cape, Kyle Cape, and Trey Cape.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
