Obituary

Rodney Stephen West, age 45, passed away at his daughter and son-in-law's home in Woodbridge, Virginia on Saturday, December 25, 2021. He had been in declining health for some time. He was born on March 9, 1976, in Floyd County, Georgia.

Rodney was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie Mae and Edward Fowler; paternal grandfather, Vernon West; paternal grandmother, Cora Brown Beetle and her husband, Walter Beetle and aunt, Phyllis West Nelson.

Rodney is survived by a daughter, Madison West Luttrell and her husband Tyler; son, Damon West; grandson, Atticus Luttrell; mother, Carolyn Fowler McKenzie; father, Richard West (Nellie Ann Clark); brother, Tristan West (Kristin); niece, Hailey West; former spouse, Amanda West; former spouse, Amy Hopkins; aunt and uncle, Renee and Mike Pressley; uncles, Billy Fowler and Brian West; former sister-in-law, Amy Caldwell (Todd); former-in-laws, Cindy and Jim Kazarian and Jodi Hopkins; his beloved cat, Kitty Banjo; many cousins, and best friend, Shane Moss.

Rodney graduated from Cass High School in 1994 and attended Southern Poly Tech State University for two years.

Rodney was a wonderful father and grandfather and loved his children and grandson dearly. They were his world along with his beloved Kitty Banjo. Rodney's grandson, Atticus, called him "Wizard".

Rodney had many interests which included baseball, hockey, football, racing, bowling, and gaming. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs and sometimes the Atlanta Falcons. He loved music and enjoyed going to concerts, but his passion was wrestling. He loved watching pay-per-views and going to shows, especially with his daughter Madison. Rodney had a radio show segment twice on WYXC in Cartersville. He was an announcer for a television show that was distributed around North Georgia and then he was a ring announcer. He also recently had a wrestling podcast.

Rodney will be missed dearly by all of his family and loved ones.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
