Mr. Ronnie G. Overby, age 57, of Cedar Ridge, Adairsville, passed away Monday (October 14, 2013) at Gordon Hospital.

Mr. Overby was born in Rome, GA, January 10, 1956, son of the late, Robert and Florine Hughes Overby. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and had worked at Mohawk for over 27 years. Mr. Overby enjoyed fishing, working in his shop, riding motorcycles, watching wrestling on TV, and especially spending time with family and friends. A caring and selfless man, he was always willing to give others a helping hand. Mr. Overby was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Terry Overby, and Wayne Overby; and a sister, Jane White.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Baker Overby of Adairsville; 4 children, Bo Overby of Adairsville, Candy Jarrett of Adairsville, Amy (Seth) Thompson of Fairmount and Jennifer Scoggins of Rome; 5 grandchildren, Abrahm Jarrett, Gracyn Thompson, Gavin Thompson, Kadin Scoggins and Braylen Scoggins; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy Overby of Rome and Jerry (Doris) Overby of Rome; a brother-in-law, R. L. White of Rome; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Butch Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Bo Overby, Kadin Scoggins, Braylen Scoggins, Gavin Thompson, Thomas Earl Baker, Joseph Ray, Justin Baker, and Michael White.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
