Mrs. Rosa Lee Helen Hayes Freeman, age 84, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Freeman was born in Braswell Mountain, GA, August 25, 1939, daughter of the late Jute Hayes and Annie Mae Jacobs Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Lee Freeman; son Robert Lee Freeman, Jr., granddaughter,Deann Magness; brother, Columbus Hayes (Virginia); and sisters, Francis Matheson (George), Frankie Hayes, and Barbara Jo Hayes. She was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church and worked as a binder at Southern Samples for 21 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her family being together. She loved her church, cooking, and watching Days of Our Lives.

Survivors include her sons, Steve Freeman (Teresa), Tony Freeman( Stacy), Lee Freeman (Regina); daughter, Brenda Borders (Steve); grandchildren, Amanda Nation (Charlie), Sueann Sharpe (David), Collin Freeman(Brooklyn), Dylan Hayes, Leah Freeman, Brad Freeman, Sarah Freeman,  Phyllis Freeman, and Tracey Hannah; great-grandchildren, Katlin Nation, Corey Nation, Brittany Sharpe, Robert Teitsort, Paige Sharpe, Cole Sharpe, Sharon Ponders, Aaron Ponders, and Tearsa Hannah; great great-granddaughter, Paisley Spackman; sister, Judy Baker; brothers, Thomas Hayes, Franklin Hayes(Rachel), Curtis Hayes, and Robert Hayes; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at New Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Towe officiating. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Ponder, Collin Freeman, Brad Freeman, Corey Nation, Noah Dutton, and Micah Warren

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Barton Funeral Home.
