Obituary
Mr. Roy Arnold Mealer, age 72, of Highway 140, Adairsville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Erlanger Hospital.
He was born in Adairsville, GA, April 27, 1943, son of the late John T. Mealer and Ellie King Mealer Sutton. Mr. Mealer was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. A self-employed mechanic, he enjoyed working on cars and also tinkering with computers. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Donald Sutton; and wife, Glenise Wright Mealer.
Survivors include his sons, Tim Mealer of Adairsville and Robert and Lori Mealer of Rydal; brother, Ladell and Demple Mealer of Adairsville; sister, Katherine and Gary Moore of Adairsville; grandchildren, Riannon Gossett, Brandon Mealer, Corey Mealer, Addison Mealer, and Avery Mealer; great-grandsons, Ethan and Ashton Gossett; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Corey Mealer, Brandon Mealer, Scott Mealer, Brian Mealer, Edward Wilson, and Jerry Wright. Honorary pallbearers include, Michael Sparks and Greg Mealer.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
