Obituary

Mrs. Ruby Boswell Webb Waldon, 89, of May Street, Adairsville passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at her residence, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born in Adairsville, GA, October 16, 1923, daughter of the late Richard King Boswell and Annie Freeman Boswell. Mrs. Waldon was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church and had retired from Calmor after more than thirty years of service. She appreciated the simple things in life, gardening and canning vegetables and sitting outside on her porch swing. Mrs. Waldon also enjoyed traveling, to the beach in the summer or mountains in the winter, and she especially loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles Webb; husband, John D. Waldon; son, Richard Webb; granddaughter, Katrina Kay Waldon; grandson, Johnny Ray Brock; brother, Alvin Boswell and sisters, Martha West and Mary Lee Seabolt.

Survivors include her children, Mary Ann Brock of Calhoun, Ronnie Waldon of Crystal River, FL, Randy (Teresa) Waldon of Rockmart and Darlene (Jim) Payne of Adairsville; 10 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Elbert Boswell of Calhoun, Roy Boswell of Adairsville, and Troy Boswell of Adairsville; 4 sisters, Effie Mae Culberson of Adairsville, Mattie Belle Whittemore of Calhoun, Lois Bradley of Ft. Worth, TX, and Mildred Colston of Adairsville; special friends and caretakers, Sheryl Withrow, Opal Gulledge Towe, Savelle King, and the employees of Heartland Hospice; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Snow Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Childress and Rev. James Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Chaney Waldon, Brandon Waldon, Blake Waldon, Jostin Waldon, Jeff Bearden, Jim Payne, and Corey Welchel will serve as pallbearers while her great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
