Mrs. Ruth V. Kinsey Pelfrey, age 93, of Adairsville passed away peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Gordon Health and Rehab.

She was born in Polk County, GA, April 26, 1929, daughter of the late Arthur Charles Kinsey and Ethel Crabbe Kinsey. Mrs. Pelfrey was a member of Adairsville First Christian Church where she enjoyed many years singing in the church quartet. Ruth loved gospel music. She worked for K-Mart for over 20 years before retiring. She was an amazing cook, everything she made was delicious, especially her candied yams. Ruth lived a blessed and wonderful 93 years; she will be missed. Mrs. Pelfrey was preceded in death by husband, Maurice A. Pelfrey; son, Steve Pelfrey; daughter, Mary Jean Pelfrey Hice; brothers, Marvin Kinsey and Leonard Kinsey; sisters, Lois Johnson, Nina Hurst, Carolyn Pope, and Barbara Maxwell.

Survivors include her son , Stanley and Sherry Pelfrey; daughter , Pam and Mitchell Wright; son-in-law, Bobby Hice; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy Kinsey(Pat), James Kinsey, and Winfred Kinsey(Brenda); sister, Judy Chambers(Earl) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 1:30 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Mr. Austin Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Alex Wright, Zachary Pelfrey, Lawayne Pelfrey, Jeff Kinsey, Keith Adams, and Dustin Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Pelfrey and Max Wright.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff at Gordon Health and Rehab for the amazing love and care they showed Mrs. Pelfrey through the years.
