Mrs. Sammie Louise Hight, 81, of Railroad Street, Adairsville passed away Monday (November 4, 2013) at the residence.
Mrs. Hight was born in Gordon County, Georgia, January 1, 1932, daughter of the late Samuel Thaniel Causby and Monteen Fletcher Causby. She was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church and retired from Mohawk Industries. Sammie was very big hearted and was well known for taking care of others, especially those that were ill. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert David Lee Reed and late husband, James Wesley Hight; son, Bobby Reed; daughter, Wanda Cook; 2 grandchildren, Chris Reed and Sam Reed; brother, Kenneth Causby.
She is survived by her son, Terry Reed of Adairsville; 5 grandchildren, Selena Register of Adairsville, Cherie Cook of Adairsville, Jenny Banta of FL; Eric Moser of Cartersville, and Fred Reed of Savannah; 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Gary Hibberts and Rev. Larry Towe officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00PM until the funeral hour. Pallbearers include Frankie Fletcher, Freddie Fletcher, Jimmy Fletcher, Shane Griffin, Tony Griffin, Justin Willis, and Chris Evans.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville. The family would especially like to thank Heyman Hospice for their wonderful care.
