Mr. Sammy Hugh Findley, age 77, of Stoners Road, Adairsville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville.

He was born in Pickens County, GA, on July 20, 1936, son of the late John Lee Findley and Bertha Mae Clark Findley. Mr. Findley was a member of Ryo Baptist Church and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mary Lee Foster and Carol Johnson; 2 brothers, Randolph Findley and Danny Findley.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Edna Mae Helton Findley of Adairsville; sister, Jo Ann Findley White of Calhoun; uncle, Waymon Clark of the Ryo Community; mother-in-law, Dora Elizabeth Helton of Adairsville; 4 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Siniard of Adairsville, Patricia Smith of Adairsville, Bobbie Sue Helton of Adairsville, and Kathy Allen of Cassville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Stoners Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Earl Abernathy, Rev. David Baker, Rev. Ronnie Howard, and Rev. Harold Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Stoners Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers will be Charles Allen, David Smith, Eric Helton, Dillard Abernathy, Lou White and Bryant White.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
