Obituary
Mr. Sammy Joe Hight, age 72, of Old Highway 41, Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at his residence.
He was born in Bartow County, GA, October 17, 1945, son of the late Jim Hight and Pauline Holmes Hight. Sammy had attended the Church of God and retired from Mohawk Industries. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with all of his family. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jody Hight; brothers, Charles, Kenneth, and Larry Hight; sisters, Ruthel Self, Hazel Norton, and Sue McDougle.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Jean Hight of Adairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Aaron Kline of Adairsville; grandchildren Austin and Taylor, Hannah and Drake, Connor, Emma, Braleigh, and Brayden; brother, Danny and Carol Hight of Cartersville; sister, Diane Rampley of Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Mark Chamlee, Mike Chamlee, John Atkins, Bradley Atkins, Aaron Kline, Austin Devier, and Connor Cowart.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Sammy Joe Hight.
