Ms. Shelbia Jean Hays, age 72, of 137 Wisteria Drive, Chelsea, AL, formerly of Shannon, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012, Kathy Cares Hospice, Cartersville.
Ms. Hays was born in Bartow County, Georgia, June 20, 1940, daughter of the late Eugene and Ann Pelfrey Hays. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Adairsville and had worked at Quality Mats, Calhoun. Ms. Hays was an avid reader, loved to cook, and enjoyed watching cooking programs on television. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tyrone Daniel Autrey, Jr.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas (Barbara) Autrey of Plainville, and Keith (Carolyn) Dobson of Ranger; a daughter, Tammy McLaughlin of Chelsea, AL; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug (Kathy) Hays, and Ray (Louise) Hays, both of Rome; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Janice Johnson of Armuchee, and Shelia (Warren) Vines of Powder Springs; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Joey Ineichen officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
Coty McLaughlin, Blake McLaughlin, Sam Berner, Josh Broome, Cole Autrey, Trey Vines, and Rodney Coker will serve as pallbearers while Dewayne Hays and Doyle Cagle will be honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
