Mrs. Shirley Mae Godwin Scott Ledford, age 76, of Cartersville passed away peacefully Friday, May 22, 2020, at her residence.

She was born in Norfolk, Virginia January 20, 1944, daughter of the late Paul Richard Godwin and Bertha Foreman Fabas. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Adairsville Baptist Church. She was talented seamstress and wonderful cook. She loved her family Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lanier Wayne Ledford; granddaughter, Christina Scott Warner; brothers, James, Robert, and Paul Godwin; and an infant sister.

Survivors include her children, Douglas Scott, Tiffany (Kevin) Morgan, and Heather (Axel) Agan; grandchildren, Ashley Scott, Kaleigh Scott, Kathryn Scott, Mikensey Veitch, Logan Veitch, August Agan, Christene Warner, and Sarah Warner; stepdaughters, Kim Ledford and Melinda Brown; several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating. Graveside services will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Following social distancing guidelines the family will receive family and friends Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Shirley Scott Ledford.
