Obituary
Ms. Shirley Ann Wright Murphy, age 78, of Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Adairsville, Georgia, July 30, 1938, daughter of the late Arvil James Wright and Mary Ann Jackson Wright. She was a member of the Adairsville Church of Christ and avid reader of the Bible. Ms. Murphy was a hair dresser for many years and had also worked at Mannington Carpet. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family, especially her grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Audie and Frankie Murphy; a brother, Harold Wright; and sister, Juanita Bragg.
Survivors include her son, Timothy Murphy of Adairsville; grandchildren, Blake Murphy, Adam Murphy, Adrian Murphy, Lee Murphy, Alex Murphy, and Gavin Ward Murphy; great grandchildren, Aden Worley, Ivan Worley, Layla Murphy, Nora Murphy, Jackson Murphy, Keeliegh Murphy, Lyric Murphy and Kayden Murphy; aunts, Irene West of Adairsville and Lois Jarrett of Acworth; several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM from the Adairsville Church of Christ with Ministers Steve McCaslin, Calvin Reneau, and Rick Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 PM until 1:00PM. Pallbearers include Adrian Murphy, Jeremy Worley, Kerry Smith, Grant Smith, Dustin Smith, Stacy Parker, Devon Isaac, and Ronnie Jackson. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Smith, Kris Bunch, Chris Busby, and Ray Medlock.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Ms. Shirley Ann Murphy.
