Ms. Sibbie Lynn Parker, age 70, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully at her home, Townsend Park, Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024.
Sibbie was born in Adairsville, GA, December 27, 1953, daughter of the late Surilla King Parker and Grady Parker. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Grady Ray Parker; brother-in-law, Terry DeFoor, and lifetime partner, Tony Tankersley.
Survivors include her brothers, Sonny and Lynn Parker, JR and Pat Parker and Norman and Diane Parker; sisters, Arlice DeFoor, Gail and Charlie Strong, Nancy and Fred Budzius, Ann and Sean McDermott; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.
Sibbie loved life and had the biggest heart, she would give you the shirt off her back. She loved her dogs and horses and enjoyed riding in her younger years. She was a long-time employee of Shaw Industries and then went on to work at Mannington to finish her career. She was known for being a hard worker, trained many on their jobs, and loved by all her coworkers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 2:00PM from Stoner Chapel Baptist Church with her nephew, Rev. Jason Parker and Rev. Stephen Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Sibbie's nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers, Stacy J. Parker, Chad Parker, Stacy L. Parker, Dwayne Parker, Shane Parker, Cody Parker, John DeFoor, Zachary Budzius, Cameron Budzius, Spencer Budzius, and Sean McDermott, II.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, 26 Stoners Chapel Road, NW Adairsville, GA 30103.
The family would like to thank Townsend Park for their excellent care of their sister. She loved her home at Townsend Park and would tell everyone that she had the best view in the place. Almost everyone there knew Sibbie as she participated in most all their activities and really felt it was her extended family as she loved them all.
