Sidney Linton (Lint) Stegall, 79, died peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, with family at his side. Lint was born to the late Sidney Alfred Stegall and Ruth Lipscomb Stegall in Cartersville, Georgia, on Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946.

Lint is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Cassandra (Sandra) McClure Stegall; sons, Lt. Col. (Ret) Sidney L. (Rebecca) Stegall, Jr. of Columbus, MS, and the Reverend Joseph M. (Sara) Stegall of Nolensville, TN; grandchildren, Sidney Stegall, Hayley Stegall, Claire Stegall, Keira Stegall, and Eden Stegall; sister, Brenda Gail (Henry) Tyson of Villa Rica, GA; brother-in-law Mac (Elaine) McClure of Rock Springs, GA; sisters-in-law Trina Pursley of Rock Springs, GA, and Anna Neal of Murfreesboro, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He attended Pine Log Elementary School and graduated from Cartersville High School in 1964. Lint was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Industrial Management.

Lint began his career at General Aniline and Film (GAF) in Funkhouser, GA following his 1969 graduation from Georgia Tech. In 1975, he changed his career path to the printing industry, remaining there for the next 38 years before retiring in 2013.

Lint was a life-long member of Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder for 58 years.

Lint enjoyed and participated in a variety of activities, including dirt bike riding, camping, traveling, fast cars, horseback riding, and cheering on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. However, his greatest joy, other than his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, came from his family. With his wife by his side, he spent more time supporting his sons and grandchildren in their athletic endeavors than doing anything else. Our beloved Dad and Pappy is now safely home.

The family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers, and doctors at Townsend Park, Cartersville, for their kindness to the family and loving care of Lint.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, at 1:15 p.m. at Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bartow County, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Joseph M. Stegall is officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
