Steven Russell Bennett, age 41, of Fairmount, GA passed away Tuesday evening, June 13, 2023, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Steven was born in Decatur, Georgia on July 12, 1981. Steven was a field supervisor at D and L Heating and Air in Marietta for several years. He was a hard worker and loved his job. He was the best son, brother, uncle and friend anyone could ask for. Loyal, protector, giver, free spirited, and charismatic are just a few words that you could use to describe Steven. His smile was contagious and a personality everyone loved. He had a huge heart, was always willing to help others and would give the shirt off his back. To know him was to love him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Bennett; grandparents, Jack Harmon, Viola and Dale Bennett, and Cynthia Thomas; and aunt, Cathy Nolen.

Survivors include his son, Walker Murtaugh; mother, Julie Harmon Thomas and husband Jeremy; father, Don Bennett and wife Vickie; brothers, Doug Bennett and Brian Bennett and wife Laura; sisters, Cassandra Laws and husband Russell and Sarah Thomas; grandmother, Helen Harmon; grandfather, Larry Thomas;  nieces and nephews, Makayla Bennett, Hailey Bennett, Brayden Bennett, River Bennett, Cash Laws, and Dalton Laws; great-niece, Salem Bennett; his beloved dog and best friend, Tank and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Steven's Life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Michael Johnson, Sr. officiating.
