Mrs. Sara Sue Ingram Baker, age 74, of Adairsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, February 27, 2026, with her beloved family at her side.
Sue was born, August 28, 1951, in Cartersville, GA to the late Louise Rainey Ingram and Nat Columbus Ingram. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son, Matthew Baker, brother, Jimmy Ingram, and sister, Frances and Shirley Ingram.
Survivors include her adoring husband of 51 years, David Baker; beloved daughter, Beth Kelly and husband Tim; her pride and joy, granddaughter, Harper Grace Kelly; brother, Jerry Ingram and wife Susan; sister, Kathy Ingram Thompson; sisters-in-law, Janie Mauldin and husband Joel , Jeanelle Abernathy, Alice Ray and husband Frank, Joyce Overby; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sue was a woman of deep and abiding faith whose life reflected her love for the Lord and for others. A devoted member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she faithfully supported her husband in his ministry, holding steadfast by his side as he led many congregations over the years. Her gentle spirit and servant’s heart left a lasting impression wherever she went. Sue was a proud graduate of Cass High School and later earned her associates degree from Reinhardt College before returning to her alma mater where she worked in the administrative office for numerous years. Sue’s kindness and strong work ethic were appreciated by all who knew her. Above all, her heart belonged to her family and her beloved granddaughter, Harper Grace. Known affectionately as "GiGi," she found her greatest earthly joy in their time together, leaving behind a legacy rooted in her devotion to God and the family she cherished.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Kingston with Reverends Sammy Adams, Donald Collum and Kenny Rogers officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Mr. Kenneth Stepp and family and Mr. Josh Cowart. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Kingston.
Pallbearers include Justin Baker, Greg Mauldin, Michael Ingram, Scott Ingram, Eddie Ingram, Greg Ingram, Shane Abernathy, Michael Baker, Dwayne Abernathy, Joe Ray, TJ Ray, Thomas Earl Baker, Steven Baker, Jeremy Ferguson, Josh Ferguson, Billy Baker, Jr. and Chuck Whigby.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
