Dan was born on January 2, 1942, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was the third of five children born to Christopher Daniel "Bud" Carroll and Sadie Norene Gray. The family resided in Bessemer, Alabama. All three of the Carroll sons became ministers of the gospel. After accepting the Lord as His Redeemer at the age of nine, Dan was called into the ministry at the early age of 14. He fully embraced this call at 17 years of age preaching his first message in Clanton, AL. His first revival was at his eldest brother's church in Bessemer, AL. He became a young shepherd pastoring his first church at the age of 19 in Nauvoo, AL. His first missionary trip was at the age of 21. The more excellent ministry was preached through missionary work in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Haiti. Many lives were changed by the Word of God he declared throughout Canada and at least 18 states in the U.S.
The fivefold ministry was evident through the 65 years of ministry. The Spirit of God rested upon his life as he was viewed as being an apostle, evangelist, pastor, prophet and teacher. Many were blessed through his ministry as he ministered in camp-meetings, conventions, revivals, at least 18 tent meetings, homes, hospitals, and nursing homes. Social media allowed viewers from around the world to hear the sound of the gospel of the Kingdom of God.
The Great Cloud of Witness called Dan to step into the eternal veil on Friday, May 24th. His legacy and life reflect his compassion, courage, excellency, faith, heart for The Word, integrity, loyalty, love for family, peacemaking, strength, unselfishness, and Christ centered living.
Many ministers were counseled by the wisdom of this great man. If you knew him, you knew his laugh and smile. He allowed revelations of the gospel of truth to continue to enlighten him and all those he ministered. He served many years as a pioneer of the gospel of grace.
