Mrs. Vera Maxine Colston Bailey, age 74, of Adairsville, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Atrium Floyd Hospital.

Vera was born in Cartersville, Georgia, July 27, 1948, daughter of the late D. W. Colston and Bernice Gulledge Colston-Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Elvis Clyde Bailey; uncles, E. C. (Mutt) Gulledge and Herman Gulledge; aunts, Frances King, Mildred Johnson, and Betty Payne; stepfather, Cecil Edwards; and sister-in-law, Elsie Moore. She was a member of College Street Church of God and retired from Walmart. Vera loved all of her family and her sweet kitty, Rocky.

Survivors include her cousin, Carla and Steve Teasley; niece, Jada and Shane Swift; sister-in-law, Wanda Lynch; brothers-in-law, Edward Bailey and Bobby Bailey; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Vera's life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM from College Street Church of God with Pastor Dewayne Smith.
