Mrs. Vera Eskridge Lee, age 87, of 21 Reynolds Bridge Road, Kingston, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her daughters residence.
She was born in Washington County, VA, October 6, 1923, daughter of the late Carl and Clara Dishner Eskridge. Mrs. Lee was a member of Connesena Baptist Church. She had worked for the Bartow County School System for 25 years as a reading teacher and also in the office at Kingston Elementary. She was preceded in death by her parents and Stella Eskridge; her husband, Charles F. Lee, JR and 2 brothers, Robert Eskridge and Van Eskridge.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Charles, III and Elizabeth Lee of Kingston and Michael and Toni Lee of Cartersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Frank Samples of Kingston; 5 grandchildren, Brian and Mark Lee, Barbara Amy, Tiffany Heatherly, and Janet Ellis; 6 great- grandchildren, Mason, Hunter, Victoria and Trenton Lee, and Carter and Alexis Heatherly; 3 brother, Douglas Eskridge of Arizona, Graham Ray Eskridge of New Mexico, and Bill Eskridge of Virginia; a sister, Loretta Honeycutt of Virginia and several nieces and nephews survive.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Connesena Baptist Church Cemetery, Kingston, with Rev. Stacey Nicholson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian and Mark Lee, John Ellis, Jason Amy, James Heatherly, Lyle McClure, and Todd McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Lee, Hunter Lee, Trenton Lee, Carter Heatherly, Victoria Lee, and Alexis Heatherly.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
