Mrs. Vera Mae Bailey Smith, age 90, of Adairsville passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with her beloved family at her side.

Vera was born in Adairsville, GA, July 5, 1935, daughter of Bessie Milsap Bailey and Orvil Raymond Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Larry Smith; daughter, Vicky Sue Smith Bagley; granddaughter, Misty Smith; great-granddaughter, Carter Eley and brothers, Clyde, Doris, Dennis, Carl, and Glenn Bailey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 74 years Jimmie Martin Smith, children, Cathy and Mike Hubbard, Carolyn Patterson, Danny and Rose Smith, Donna and Kenny Ray, Randall and Lynn Smith, Steve and Annette Smith, Doyle and Heather Smith, David and Katrina Smith; son-in-law, Johnny Bagley; sister, Lorene Adcock; brother-in-law, Lawrence Smith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Vera was the heart of her family, a devoted wife, loving momma, cherished mawmaw, and proud great-mawmaw whose life was a beautiful reflection of love and devotion. For 74 years, she shared an enduring marriage with her beloved husband, building a legacy that grew into ten children and generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren who will carry her love forward. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for bringing smiles to those around her, lighting up every room she entered. Vera was a remarkable cook, known for meals made with care and a heart full of love. She spent her life nurturing her family, always putting them first and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. She was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church. Vera lived her life with kindness, grace, and a deep love for others, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM from the Smith Family Cemetery, Adairsville with Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Smith Randall Smith, Steve Smith, Doyle Smith, David Smith and Timmy Bagley.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Vera Mae Bailey Smith.
