Obituary
Mrs. Vicki Jean Tankersley, age 71, of 1510 Hall Station Road, Adairsville, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the residence.
She was born in Elberton, GA, March 5, 1940, daughter of the late Grady and Gertrude Turner Wood. Mrs. Tankersley was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church and the Sans Souci Club. She had been an X-ray technician for over forty-five years, working at Floyd Medical Center and later at Harbin Clinic. A former member of the Palomino Horse Breeders of America Association, she had a passion for horses and other animals. Mrs. Tankersley most enjoyed taking care of her family and was known for always putting others before herself. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Jeff and Russell Darnell and a sister, Betty Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, Stan Tankersley of Adairsville, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Snow Springs Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Stephen Cochran officiating.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Vicki Tankersley.
