Obituary

Mrs. Virginia Dee 'Ginnie" Vannurden, age 72, of 36 Golden Eagle Drive, Adairsville, passed away Saturday evening, May 7, 2011, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living, Calhoun.

Mrs. Vannurden was born in Cando, North Dakota, March 31, 1939, daughter of the late Ward and Agnes Martin Dwight. She was a member of NorthPointe Church and had a compassionate love for her Lord.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Tom Vannurden of Adairsville; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Steve Spencer of Adairsville, Becky and Doug Wyatt of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Mindy Hennigan and Kit Owensby of White; 3 stepchildren, Tommy and Julie Vannurden of Ludowici, Georgia, Bill and Ann Vannurden of Hanover, Maryland, and Joanne Hatten of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, Cray and Reese Spencer, Andrea and Troy Wyatt, Rylie and Noah Newberry, Amy and Will Swingle, Jackie Vannurden, Laura Noggle, and Addison Hatten; 2 brothers, Phil and Jeanne Dwight of Cartersville and Paul and Patty Dwight of Mazulla, Montana.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 3:00 PM from NorthPointe Church, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Entombment will follow at a later time in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
