Obituary
Mrs. Wanda Kay Brooks, age 62, of 126 Dog Lane, Adairsville, passed away Thursday evening, November 17, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center, Cartersville.
She was born in Macon, Georgia on January 5, 1954, daughter of the late William Leon and Betty Kathryn Renfroe Jones. She was a member of Glade Baptist Church and had retired from Jenkins Transport. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and being outside working in her flower gardens. Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Jones, an infant brother, granddaughter, Christian Young, and nephew, Ronald Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Brooks of Adairsville, daughter, Kristie (Billy) Young Wilson of Adairsville, grandchildren, Christopher and Kaylee Young and Kaleb Wilson, siblings, Nancy (Tommy) Stedman, Stanley Jones, Linda (Terry) Spires, Wesley (Lucy) Jones. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Glade Baptist Church with Rev. Doc Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Shane Childers, Joey Timms, Steven Young, Raymond Hall, Brandon Bradshaw, Billy Joe Rodgers, Jimmy Ragland, and James Young.
The family will receive friends at Glade Baptist Church on Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
