Mr. Wayne Ray , age 7 2 , of Adairsville, passed away Monday morning November 21, 2022, surround ed by his loving family.

H e was born in Adairsville, Georgia , November 30, 1949 , son of the late Earl J. and Dorothy Allen Ray. Wayne was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with people and always found a way to make you laugh. He was known by some as the "Mayor of Cass Street" and to a few Conway Twitty. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father. Mr. Ray is preceded in death by h is parents; brother, Billy Ray; and sister, Carolyn Sue Rogers.

Survivors include h is loving wife of 52 years , Diane Ray of Adairsville ; daughter ; Christy and Steve Herod of Adairsville ; brother, Farril and Christine Ray of Adairsville ; sister, Ann and Tim Miller of Armuchee ; brother-in-law, A. L. Rogers; sister-in-law, Shirley and Jack Jacobs and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednes day, November 23 , 2022, at 1 2: 3 0PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev erends Gary Hibberts and Michael Hunt officiating . Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. His family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tues day evening from 5:00PM until 7 :00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
