Mr. William Derrell Adams , 79 , of Adairsville passed away Wednes day, January 26 , 202 2 .

He was born December 1, 1942, to the late Nathaniel Hawthorne Adams and Lucille Calhoun Adams. Derrell attended NorthPointe Church in Adairsville. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era . Derrell retired as an electrician from Delta Airlines after 28 years of service. He was a true entrepreneur in every since of the word. After retiring he worked as a contractor, was owner of the Adairsville Inn Restaurant, and operator of several other businesses. His greatest accomplishment was his family. He adored his grandchildren and was always there to support them in any activity . He loved going fishing and was a phenomenal cook. Derrell will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin Adams; and great-nephew, Justin Russell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 6 1 years, Carolyn L. Adams; daughter, Debbie Herod and husband Rod; grandchildren, Cand i ce Forsyth and husband, Matt, Savannah Wilson and husband Brad; Matt Herod and wife, Ke s ley; great-grandchildren, Lily Wilson, Jud Forsyth, Tate Forsyth, Levi Wilson and Ace Forsyth; sister, Mary Jon Boswel l ; brothers, Robert Adams and wife Paula and Jeff Adams and wife Sherry; dear friend, Billy Patrick and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Fri day, January 28 , 202 2 , at 3 :00 PM from NorthPointe Church with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. I nterment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Joe Lanham, Landon Adams, Zach Adams, Greg Boswell, Eric Russell, and Billy Patrick.

The family will receive friends Fri day from 1:00 PM until 3 :00 PM at NorthPointe Church, 30 Orchard Road, Adairsville, GA 30103.
