Mr. William Darrell Hyde, age 71, of Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Adairsville passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018.

He was born in Cartersville, GA, August 17, 1947, son of the late Gordon Hyde and Velma Ray Hyde. Mr. Hyde was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Union Carbide after 37 years and then worked for H & R Fire Safety. Everyone who knew Darrel knew his favorite place to be was fishing. Mr. Hyde was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon "Cotton" Hyde; sister, Lucille Hyde Ray; and niece Peggy Ann Ray.

Survivors include his nephews, Johnny Ray and Jimmy Ray both of Adairsville; great-nephews, Billy Ray, Blake Ray, and Brent Ray; great great nieces and nephew, Ryder, Sophia, and Macie Ray.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 24, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Oak Hill Baptist Church, Rydal with Reverends Jim Pinkard and Ronny Cline officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny Ray, Blake Ray, Brent Ray, Mike Wilkey, Shane Copeland, and Dowis Satterfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Stewart, Sammy McMillen, Donny Hale, and Terry Martin.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
