Mrs. Bobbie Wilma Quarles Reed, known to everyone as Wilma, age 84, of Adairsville, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 16, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Wilma was born in Cartersville, Georgia on September 23, 1941, daughter of the late William Emory Quarles and Mamie Alma Townsend Quarles. She was also greeted in heaven by her loving husband of 70 years, James Alton Reed who passed July 20, 2026; great-grandson, Nathaniel Ledford; brothers, Conslee Quarles, Harold Quarles, Joe Quarles, Bill Quarles, and Norman Quarles; sisters, Virginia Self, Daphne Sue Blasengame, Jewel Bohannon, Evelyn Bohannon, Elaine Thomas and Jane Townsend.
Survivors include her beloved children, Delores Brannon and husband Lee, Tim Reed and his wife LaJuana, Bobby Reed, and Wayne Reed and his wife Karen; sister, Brenda Bohannon and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
From her earliest days, Wilma dedicated her life to sharing the Word of God. Her ministry was not confined to a pulpit—it was lived out daily in her words, her actions, and her unwavering compassion. She traveled to churches near and far, worshiping joyfully with others, lifting her voice in gospel song, and inspiring countless hearts to draw closer to the Lord.
Wilma also served her community with diligence and humility, retiring from Bartow County Schools after many years as the lead custodian at Adairsville Middle School. Her work was more than a job—it was another way she quietly ministered to others, offering kindness, encouragement, and a listening ear to students and staff alike.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Wilma was the heart of her home—the one everyone could turn to for wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. She cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each one a precious blessing in her eyes.
Wilma’s life was a living testimony of faith, perseverance, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion to God, service to others, and a family bound together by her example. Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing she is now singing with the angels, worshiping at the feet of her Savior.
"Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
